Hanoi Labor Confederation Mobilizes Support for People Affected by Storms and Floods

On the morning of Sep.11, Pham Quang Thanh, President of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation, donated 100 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi. On the same day, the Confederation also donated 100 million VND through the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

With the spirit “Hanoi supports the whole country, Hanoi stands with the whole country”, the Hanoi Labor Confederation encourages union members, officials, civil servants, union members, and workers to join hands to share the burden with and support people in areas hit by the recent storms and floods.

Responding to the call “People of the Capital city join hands to support provinces affected by storms and floods” of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor's direction, the Hanoi Labor Confederation requests the city’s Confederation at all levels to encourage cadres, civil servants, union members, and workers. This act aims to promote the “mutual love and support”, “the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves” tradition, and the “sharing food and clothes” spirit to share the burden and support people in areas affected by the storm and flood.

The Hanoi Confederation of Labor affirmed that “The spiritual and material support will alleviate the pain and loss, contributing to the rapid restoration of production and stabilization of the lives of people in areas affected by storms, floods, and natural disasters”. Accordingly, the amount of support from the Trade Unions at all levels will be sent to the City Relief Fund through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City from September 10 to October 30.

Responding to the call “People of the Capital participate in supporting provinces affected by storms and floods” of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, on the morning of September 11, on behalf of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor, Chairman Pham Quang Thanh directly donated 100 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City. Along with that, the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor donated 100 million VND through the Golden Heart Charitable Social Fund of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

In addition, to promptly care for and support union members and workers affected by storm No. 3, the Hanoi Labor Confederation has requested the Labor Confederations of districts, towns, and cities, unions of industries, corporations, and trade unions at the grassroots level to proactively grasp the situation, review and support union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 with the highest spirit and timely actions. Each individual receives an aid from 1 - 3 million VND.

Following the Hanoi Labor Confederation's direction, trade unions at all levels in the city have promptly reviewed and deployed support for union members and workers affected by storm No. 3. Union officials and members have joined hands to support people in areas swept by storms and floods through various activities.
