Hanoi to host sixth Latin American Film Festival this month
The sixth Latin American Film Festival will return to the capital city in October, promising to provide fans of the continent's silver screen with pleasant and entertaining treats.
The week will present a selection of ten films from ten countries – Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Panama, Cuba, Argentina, and Peru, including international award-winning pieces and featuring some of the most exciting and creative productions to reach the big screen in recent years.
The movies including Macará (Uruguay), El Benny (Cuba), Historias de Canal/Panama Canal Stories (Panama), El niño y el mundo/Boy and the World (Brazil), Ilusiones S.A/We Fulfill Your Dreams (Mexico), El día de la cabra/Bad Lucky Goat (Colombia), La Casa del fin de los tiempos/ The House at the End of Time (Venezuela), Días de Vinilo/ Vinyl Days (Argentina), Ogú y Mampato en Rapa Nui/ Ogu and Mampato in Rapa Nui (Chile), Viejos amigos/Good Old Boys (Peru).
Films screened feature many categories – mainstream, comedy, cartoon, documentary and history and among others – displaying social life, cultural characteristics of each nation and help Vietnamese understand the cultural persity of Latin America.
Tickets are offered free by embassies.
This year’s Latin American Film Week, which will take place from October 8 to 13 at the National Cinema Centre (87 Lang Ha Str., Hanoi).
The first Latin American Film Festival was held in Hanoi in 2013./.
