Hanoians to enjoy the International Day of Yoga this June
(VNF) - The International Day of Yoga (IDY) will be celebrated in Hanoi for the fourth time, starting on June 16th.
The event is jointly held by the Embassy of India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Hanoi.
The event will be held from 7 pm at Cung Dien Kinh Hanoi (Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium), KDT My Dinh, Tran Huu Duc Street, Cau Dien Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.
The program will include Yoga Protocol Performance led by an Indian Yoga Instructor and an Indian Musical Concert by Rattle & Hum band from Nagaland, India.
The 4th IDY 2018 is free of charge and open to people from all age groups. Those interested may register online on the Embassy’s IDY website in advance.

Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice Having its origin in India, which Aims to transform both body and mind. The 21st of June has been declared as International Day of Yoga (IDY) by the U.N. General Assembly resolution 69/131 on December 11th, 2014.
The declaration came after the proposal was made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the U.N. General Assembly three months earlier on September 27th wherein he stated, “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition . It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature”./.
