(VNF) - Ho Chi Minh City (HCM City) has been listed among the 50 most beautiful cities in the world by the world famous travel website Conde Nast Traveler (Cntraveler).

HCM City boasts charming French architecture and wide boulevards. Nowadays, the city has seen dramatic changes in infrastructure, transport, people’s lifestyles, and became Vietnam's largest city.

The city’s contrasts feature its beauty. New high-rises sprang up beside ancient structures. Visitors can witness endless traffic lines of vehicles into the crowded alleys. Streets are full of food stalls, especially around bustling Ben Thanh Market.

It’s also possible to find little moments of serenity, like a cold beer on the banks of the Saigon River, the website stated.

HCM City welcomed more than 5.2 million foreign tourists in 2016, an increase of 10 per cent against the previous year and served 21.8 million domestic visitors, up 10 per cent year-on-year.

The city’s tourism sector aims to serve 5.5 million foreign tourists and 24 million domestic visitors, with total revenue of VND 112 trillion (about USD 4.9 billion) in 2017./.
