Head of France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group experiences Dao Tien Fabric Dye
In Da Bac district (Hoa Binh province), Anne Le Hénanff discussed with Ban Kim Quy, Vice Chairwoman of the district People's Committee, and Tran Kieu Oanh, Chairwoman of the district Women's Union about the role and cooperation of local governments, agencies, and departments in supporting ethnic minority women in economic development and promoting gender equality.

The group visited the Dao Tien brocade cooperative group in Sung hamlet, Cao Son commune, Da Bac. The cooperation group is owned by Dao Tien ethnic women and supported by Aide et Action (AEA). They also exchanged and learned about establishing and operating cooperative groups, changes in knowledge - skills - thinking, and personal development of women when participating in projects supported by AEA.
In particular, Anne Le Hénanff practiced dyeing fabric and creating patterns with indigo leaf glaze in the traditional way of the Dao Tien people in Sung hamlet.

She expressed her impression when members of the Dao Tien brocade cooperative group in Sung hamlet demonstrated their ingenuity in brocade weaving techniques, creating mountain and forest landscape paintings with beeswax, and creating patterns using dyeing handmade indigo, as well as sharing stories about the meaning and culture of the unique patterns on the costumes of the Dao Tien people.
On this occasion, the delegation attended a class to develop gender analysis capacity and gender integration skills for local officials who are representatives of the Youth Union and Women's Union at the commune and village levels, and village leaders. This activity aims to improve understanding of gender equality, benefits, and the importance of gender integration in socio-economic development support activities for local people.
Through the training class, students have the knowledge and skills to identify and solve urgent gender inequality issues of women and children locally, integrate gender in project activities and the functions and duties of local officials, and implement gender-responsible communication activities, contributing to promoting effective gender equality.
