Vietnamese Embassy Aids Brazilian Flood-hit State
	Many Ways to Boost Vietnam-Brazil Ties

Titled 'Saudades do Brasil' (Missing Brazil), the October 30 concert is hosted by the Embassy of Brazil in Hanoi, which is part of a series of celebrations to commemorate the 35th anniversary of bilateral relations between Brazil and Vietnam.

The concert's program included pieces by important Brazilian composers Camargo Guarnieri and Heitor Villa-Lobos, as well as by French composer Darius Milhaud.

The 'Saudades do Brasil' concert has been jointly organized by the Embassy of Brazil in Vietnam in partnership with Sun Group and Ho Guom Opera.

The concert in Hanoi was the starting point of the first Asian tour of Cristian Budu. The Brazilian, born in Brazil to Romanian parents, performed under the baton of conductor Olivier Ochanine, a French citizen who has been conducting the Sun Symphony Orchestra.

Cristian Budu rose to stardom in 2013, when he became the grand winner of the Clara Haskil international competition in Switzerland. In addition to winning the main prize, the Brazilian pianist was also honored with prizes from a public vote and from young critics.

As part of the series of celebrations throughout the year, a Bossa Nova concert was performed last September in Hanoi and, in April, friendly football matches were held in Da Nang and Hanoi, featuring former members of the Brazilian national football team that won the fourth World Cup title in 1994.

Speaking at the concert, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that this concert to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is an opportunity for the two countries to look back at the achievements and new developments in the good friendship, and look forward to the future with more open cooperation opportunities.

According to Ngoc, the performance featuring the Brazilian famous pianist Cristiano Budu and the Sun Symphony Orchestra from Vietnam is a symbol of cultural exchange and spiritual harmony; creating a close and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Brazil.

"The relations between the two countries continue to develop through cultural and artistic exchanges, of which today's concert is a typical example. Music has no borders, is a common language, and the shortest path from heart to heart," stressed Ngoc.

Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani, emphasized Vietnam and Brazil are experiencing a particularly important moment in bilateral relations, which have been strongly developed in the past two years after President Lula de Silva was elected. In the context of the two countries' relationship continues to be promoted by high-level visits, Farani hopes that there will continue to be many cultural exchange events in the future so that Vietnamese people will have more opportunities to interact not only with the country's Latin American art but also expand to other areas such as cuisine and sports.
