In the sectors of agriculture and food industry, Ho Chi Minh City plays a significant role in Vietnam's agricultural economic chain. It is a market for various agricultural products, a hub for domestic and foreign import and export activities, a center for agricultural processing, logistics, export-import of seeds, and input for the agricultural industry.
Thereby, Phan Van Mai wishes to promote comprehensive political, economic, and cultural cooperation activities with partners of the Czech Republic. In particular, cooperation in the agriculture and food industry is identified as the center of agricultural development cooperation between the two countries.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee appreciated the Czech Republic's strengths in agriculture, agricultural products, and food processing. Traditional Czech products, such as dairy, meat, and food industry inputs, have the potential to enter the Ho Chi Minh City market and then expand into the entire southern region of Vietnam.
Furthermore, tourism, restaurants, and hotels are all areas with high potential for collaboration, contributing to increased trade turnover and economic cooperation efficiency between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. When direct flights between the two nations open, cooperation in tourism and tourism services will contribute to increasing trade turnover between the two countries.

According to Czech Republic's Minister of Agriculture Marek Vyborny, the total two-way trade turnover between the Czech Republic and Vietnam exceeded US $2.5 billion in 2023. He hopes the Czech Republic and Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, will implement additional steps to increase bilateral trade turnover.
In addition, Marek Vyborny spoke highly of Ho Chi Minh City's economic development potential and believes the city will be a destination for Czech firms. As a result, Czech enterprises will be able to penetrate the markets of other provinces and cities in Vietnam.
The Czech Minister also invited Vietnamese enterprises, especially those in Ho Chi Minh City, to visit the Czech Republic and discuss the potential for collaboration in agriculture and food processing. He also stated that the country stands ready to cooperate with Vietnam to organize business meetings of the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
