At the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Hai reported on the socio-economic development of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh city in particular.

He applauded the achievements of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia over recent years, especially the work of party building; the practical contribution of the Embassy in the process of consolidating and promoting the traditional friendly relationship between the two countries, as well as contributing to the promotion of cooperation between Ho Chi Minh city and Phnom Penh capital over the past time; advised overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia to help each other to achieve a better and more beautiful life, respect local laws and actively contribute to the construction and development of the friendly relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Thach Du said that the working visit of Mr. Le Thanh Hai to Cambodia contributed to strengthening the bilateral relations in general, as well as the friendly cooperative relations between Ho Chi Minh city and Cambodia in the process of building the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

Mr. Le Thanh Hai also presented USD10,000 to the Vietnamese Embassy and representative of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay traditional New Year Festival./.
