Football Tournament Held in Tokyo To Raise Funds for A Vietnamese Pagoda
The Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) on April 7 organized the final round of the Vietnamese football tournament 'FAVIJA KANTO CUP 2024', under the sponsorship of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
There are more than 76 Vietnamese amateur teams registered to compete in the tournament. Thereby, the 40 teams that qualified for the final round were divided into 10 groups, competing simultaneously on 8 fields within the Redsland Stadium campus in Saitama city.
The tournament attracted thousands of fans, Vietnamese expatriates and local people, to the stadium.

The tournament is not only a sports playground for health training, community connections but also a close friendship between overseas Vietnamese and people in the host country. It also has a profound humanistic value, expresses the spirit of mutual intimacy and national solidarity.
Through the tournament, the organizing committee will launch charity donations to build a Vietnamese pagoda in the heart of Tokyo - a spiritual center for the Vietnamese community in a foreign land.

At the end of the tournament, the Championship belonged to FC Hoang Hai, the runner-up was FC T-Connect, and the two third-place teams were FC Nam Dan and FC ISC Nghe An.
The championship team has donated the entire JPY 30,000 prize money to the fund to build a Vietnamese pagoda in Tokyo.
The winning teams also won the right to participate in the Vietnamese National Football Championship Cup in Japan 2024 (FAVIJA CUP 2024) expected to be held in mid-November this year in Tokyo.
With about 2,000 amateur players participating in the football tournament and about 3,000 fans who are overseas Vietnamese and local people, the Vietnamese Football Tournament in the Kanto region has become an exciting sports festival for the Vietnamese community in Japan.
