Ho Chi Minh City to host French Cuisine Festival
(VNF) - French Cuisine Festival, themed “Balade En France” (Ride in France) will take place from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m. on at Equatorial Hotel, 242 Tran Binh Trong Street, District 5 in Ho Chi Minh City from November 4th-5th.
Mr. Emmanuel Ly-Batallan, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, made this announcement at a press conference on October 11th.
“Balade en France (Ride in France), which aims to promote French gastronomy, culture and music, has been welcomed by Vietnamese guests for the past six editions because French and Vietnamese gastronomy have some connections,” Emmanuel Ly-Batallan, Consul General of France in HCMC, said.
The event will showcase such delicious French foods as crepe, oyster, foie gras, ham, ice-cream, chocolate, and cheese from representatives of French restaurants and brands.
The goal of this event is to promote French culture through food, wine and various animations. After six successful editions, more than 2,000 people are expected to attend this two-night event.
Package tickets cost VND 150,000 (USD 7) if buying in advance and VND 250,000 (USD 12) on the day of the event. The package ticket for children under 14 costs VND 80,000 (USD 3.6). Children under five get free entrance.
People can purchase authentic French products, which will also be displayed at the event, to take home at an average price of VND 20,000 (USD 1) to VND 80,000 (USD 3.6).

Apart from the culinary festival, a French fair will also be held on November 5th to introduce France’s specialties. It is expected to provide opportunities for French food and wine importers in Vietnam and customers to enjoy the European tastes.
Especially, the 7th edition of Balade en France aims to create a nice and cheerful atmosphere with the performance of French band based in Vietnam, Gwenilli and singer Elvis Phuong. The participants will also be able to bring back souvenirs from the event thanks to the lucky draw, the photo booth and Henna tattoo customized specially for this event.
The seventh annual event is co-organized by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food, French Cheese Association, French Fruit Association and French Consulate General in HCMC.
It is the biggest French culinary event in Vietnam, aiming to promote French culture through food, and increasing the visibility and fame of French products in the eyes of Vietnamese people./.
