The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Conservatory of Music announced the 2nd Saigon international guitar festival will open in HCMC.

The event will gather the participation of internationally acclaimed guitarists from different countries such as Rene Izquierdo (Associate Professor of guitar at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA); JérémyJouve (France), winner of 2003 GFA award (Guitar Foundation of America) – the most prestigious competitions between current guitarists, with guitar and flute duet CD nominated for 2014 Grammy award.

Besides, there will be artists Anton Baranov (Russia), who won the prestigious GFA award in 2013 together with over 20 other international awards and Kozo Tate (Japan), who won the Guitar Foundation of Japan contest in 1975.

Artists PadetNetpakdee (Thailand), the winner of Thailand International Guitar Competition in 2009 and French-Vietnamese female guitarists Nguyen Thanh Hang, graduating from “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musiqueet de Danse de Paris” and currently performing and teaching in France will also at the festival.

The festival aims to contribute to the development of the art in HCMC and Viet Nam and launch an annual tradition./.
