At the event, Dr. Khamla Keoounkham, vice director of the academy, said that the teaching and studying of the works has a practical meaning, creating favourable conditions for researchers, scholars and teachers as well as other people interested in President Ho Chi Minh's ideology to access the late Vietnamese leader’s works.

He highlighted the viewpoints in the Ho Chi Minh ideology, underlining they have guided Vietnam’s development towards socialism with Marxism-Leninism playing the role as revolutionary theory.

In his works, President Ho Chi Minh showed a pure diplomacy spirit with the famous words of “helping our friends is helping ourselves,” said Khamla.

He underscored that each work of President Ho Chi Minh carries a profound theoretical and practical value, providing valuable lessons not only for the Vietnamese people but also for all mankind, peace-loving people to study.

President Ho Chi Minh is a shining example of sacrifice for the people, for the common interests, for the country and the humanity, the official stated, emphasising that President Ho Chi Minh always paid great attention to the people's lives, that the leader considered as a decisive factor of the success of the revolutionary cause.

The Complete Works of Ho Chi Minh feature the journey of late President Ho Chi Minh to save the country and lead the Vietnamese revolution from victory to victory.

In 2011, Vietnam’s National Political Publishing House launched the third edition of the complete works, which includes 15 volumes containing 3,300 pieces of written works by the President.

It is an invaluable asset for the Vietnamese Party and people, reflecting vividly the process of national salvation and the writer’s profound and comprehensive viewpoints on the fundamental issues of Vietnam’s revolution.

Among the 800 new documents supplemented in the collection are writings and speeches with quite new points of view from the President, which have never been shown before in his writings.

The translation project was jointly carried out by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration as part of the 2014 cooperation agreement on economy, culture, and science and technology between the Vietnamese and Lao governments.

The books provide various documents covering the career and great value of Ho Chi Minh Thought – a system of comprehensive and profound views on the basic issues of the Vietnamese revolution.

At the same time, it also shows the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the global revolution and his outstanding dedication to the common struggle of mankind for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress.

The process of President Ho Chi Minh seeking a way to salvage the country, as well as outlining the strategic directions and tactics of the revolution to organise and lead the Vietnamese revolution to victory are also vividly and deeply reflected in the book series.

In addition, it also systematically provides comprehensive and profound perspectives on the basic issues of the Vietnamese revolution needed to serve the country's Doi Moi (renewal) cause.

The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) was originated from the Indochinese Communist Party (founded by President Ho Chi Minh in 1930). The Resolution adopted at the 9th National Congress of the LPRP reiterated the study of Ho Chi Minh’s thought is significant to the Lao revolutionary cause.
