The annual event, which was first organised in 2008, aims to provide a platform for overseas Vietnamese to share their aspirations and thoughts and honour those who have contributed to the homeland’s development.
The overseas community will get updated on socio-economic affairs at home and connect with their countrymen in Vietnam and abroad.
The programme will be jointly held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee. It will be broadcast live on channels VTV1 and VTV4.
There are approximately 4.5 million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries and territories worldwide. They form an indispensable part of the nation and play an important role in intensifying friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
