On the evening of May 12, Vietnam Film Week 2025 in Greece was officially opened in Athens. Representatives of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Communist Party of Greece participated. There are also many Ambassadors, representatives of Embassies of other countries, Greece audiences and the community of the overseas Vietnamese.

The event was organized by the Embassy of Vietnam in Greece on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Greece diplomatic relations, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam, the reunification of the country and the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, with the coordination of the Vietnam Film Institute under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tounurism, Hanoi Radio and Television. On the other hand, the Greek partners are New Star Art Cinema and Cine Vakoura Cinema.

In her remarks, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece, Pham Thi Thu Huong, noted that the films screened in the Film Week have won domestic and international awards, reflecting the history, culture, landscape, and people of Vietnam.

Vietnam Film Week will help Greek audiences and international friends better understand Vietnamese cinema, which is rich in national cultural identity. The film week will take place from May 12-20 in the two major cities of Athens and Thessaloniki. After that, many movies will continue to be screened in several other Greek cities in 2025.

One of the highlights is a special screening in honor of President Ho Chi Minh on his birthday - May 19, with the film "Ho Chi Minh: A journey to create culture and peace".

This is also the opportunity for the local audiences to watch the documentary "Peace Train" produced by Hanoi Radio and Television in April 2025.

The feature film "Don't Burn" was selected to be screened on the opening night in Athens with Greek and English subtitles, which left a lot of emotion on the audience on the night of its premiere.
