HortEx Vietnam 2024 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from March 13-15, 2024, said its co-organizer Minh Vi Exhibitions and Advertisement Services Co. Ltd. (VEAS) at a press conference in HCM City on November 24.

The three-day event will feature a range of activities, including seminars, forums, and the first-ever fair displaying export fruits in Southeast Asia.

On this occasion, the organizers of HortEx Vietnam - Nova Exhibitions B.V. from the Netherlands and VEAS from Vietnam - announced the partnership with Germany’s Messe Essen, the organizer of IPM ESSEN - the world's leading trade fair for horticulture, in which IPM Essen will exclusively manage the acquisition of exhibitors from the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and other nations with high relevance in the global horticultural market, such as Italy and Ecuador.

“This partnership underlines the importance of the Vietnamese horticulture and floriculture sector as a huge emerging market. This collaboration will enhance our ability to expand and globalize the exhibition, allowing us to leverage the opportunities presented by this promising market. We are proud that IPM Essen, the world’s leading trade fair for horticulture, has recognized HortEx Vietnam as the premier show for horticulture and floriculture in the ASEAN region,” the organizers of HortEx Vietnam said.

Horticulture and floriculture are one of the most promising sectors of the Vietnamese economy and according to experts Vietnam has the potential to become one of the world’s largest flower exporters.

At HortEx Vietnam 2024, participating businesses will have the opportunity to meet and discuss directly with potential customers, and enhance promotion and export activities for this promising market. The exhibition attracts professionals, buyers, and visitors from Vietnam and countries from the region and around the world.

Vietnam’s export revenue of vegetables and rice in the first 10 months of this year surpassed the figure reported in the whole of 2022 by US$2 billion, reaching a record amount of $8.9 billion.

In the reviewed period, vegetable exports hit $4.92 billion, up 79% year on year, while that of rice reached US$4 billion, a rise of 35%.

The result considerably contributed to the export revenue of US$40 billion for the agricultural sector and US$291 billion for the whole economy in the first 10 months of 2023./.
