ILO and Vietnam Cooperate to Build Labor Relation Productivity, Stability and Harmony

At the meeting with the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Houngbo on June 29, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang reaffirmed that thanks to ILO, the Vietnam Trade Union learned valuable experience from the world's trade unions for building a harmonious, stable and productive labor relations in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang introduced the long history of the Vietnam Trade Union has a long history of operation to ILO Director General.

The host also said that the Vietnam Trade Union highly appreciated the coordination and support of ILO Asia in general and ILO Vietnam in particular. Also, Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation and friendship promotion with the ILO and international organizations and trade unions.

He hoped that the Vietnam Trade Union would continue to receive support from the ILO in general and Mr. Gilbert's experiences in particular, emphazing that the Union will work with other agencies of the Government of Vietnam to continue promoting promote good cooperation relationship with the ILO to ensure the highest benefits for employees on the basis of international and domestic laws.

In response, ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo thanked the host of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the warm welcome and information sharing. He looked forward to working with the Vietnam Trade Union during the visit.

The two sides discussed the process of making the draft laws directly related to workers, the proposals of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor sent to the Government for employees during the recent Covid-19 epidemic, such as donations, Covid-19 vaccination, and support.

Regarding the proposal of the host, the ILO Director-General affirmed that the ILO commits to supporting the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
