The US Navy's aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, together with two guided missile cruisers USS Antietam - CG 54 and USS Robert Smalls - CG 62, arrived in the central city of Da Nang on June 25, marking the third time a US aircraft carrier has visited Vietnam since 2018.

Within the framework of a courtesy visit to Da Nang city, on June 26, sailors from the US Navy's aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan visited and interacted with children at the Center for raising disadvantaged children (Village of Hope), Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City.

The sailors of the USS Ronald Reagan visited the play and learning areas of the children of the Hope Village. The US Navy Band and sailors performed music, danced and sang together with orphans and children with special difficulties. Many children were extremely excited, clapping their hands non-stop, boldly going up to the stage to dance with the sailors.

The group of sailors then joined the children to participate in football exchanges and play folk games. Under the hot weather of Da Nang, the crew and children at Hope Village were drenched in sweat, but everyone had bright smiles on their faces.

Da Nang Hope Village was established 30 years ago. Currently, it is raising 120 orphans and disadvantaged children in Da Nang and Quang Nam. Over the past 30 years, more than 700 children have been nurtured and educated from Hope Village. Currently, there are four children in foster care who are studying abroad in the US, 4 children in Australia and a few others in Japan and Korea.

Earlier, on the evening of June 25, the US Navy band performed and interacted with students and students in Da Nang. It is estimated that more than 5,000 sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan visit Da Nang and experience Vietnamese culture.

The visit is among several activities to mark the 10th year anniversary of the US-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership (2013-2023), showcasing their shared commitment to a prosperous and secure future.
