Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Luong Quoc Huy said that the visit to Iran by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is an important milestone in bringing Vietnam-Iran relations to a new height.
The Ambassador said the visit is of great significance. It takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran (August 4, 1973 - August 4, 2023), and the two countries are promoting multilateral diplomacy, and international integration, focusing on economic diplomacy.
This is also the first visit of a President of the National Assembly of Vietnam to Iran since 1999, showing that the leaders of the two countries attach great importance to, and wish to continue promoting and expanding political, economic and cultural relations between the two developing countries.
Within the framework of the visit, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Parliament, chair the law and policy forum to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation.
He will also give a speech on foreign policy at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), open the Vietnam Culture Week in Iran, and visit some cultural, scientific and high-tech facilities of Iran.
“It is significant that during this visit, agencies, ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries will meet, exchange contents and sign many cooperation documents. It is an important basis for the implementation of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, agriculture, science and technology, quality standards, sports, culture, justice and law.
Most notably, the two National Assembly will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This is the first cooperation document signed between the National Assembly of the two countries. It aims to perform the function of the two legislative bodies in supervising the implementation of signed agreements between the Government agencies and localities of the two countries.
Besides, many other documents will be signed on this occasion," said the Ambassador of Vietnam to Iran Luong Quoc Huy.

The law and policy forum to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation is one of the highlights of this visit.
The event will be attended by leaders of ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries, especially more than 100 enterprises of the two countries in the fields of trade and agriculture, high technology, chemicals, and banking.
The forum is a good trading opportunity for businesses of the two sides, as well as for the state management agencies to grasp the needs of businesses, and cooperate to solve difficulties for enterprises and localities of the two sides.
"The visit to Iran of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, and the visits of our Party and State leaders to countries this year vividly demonstrate the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, international integration, multilateralization and diversification of international relations set forth in the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.
With the results achieved during this visit to Iran by National Assembly Chairwoman Vuong Dinh Hue, I am confident that the relationship between Vietnam and Iran will be raised to a new level, more substantive and effective," said the Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran.
