According to the General Statistics Office, in the first half of 2024, Vietnam’s tourism sector witnessed significant growth. |
Vietnam attracted more than 8.8 million foreign tourists in the first six months of 2024, according to the General Statistics Office. This marks a remarkable 58.4% increase over the previous year and a 4.1% increase over the same period in 2019 (pre-Covid-19).
Among the 8.8 million international tourists, air travel accounted for 83.8%, followed by road travel (14.3%) and sea travel (1.9%).
South Korea remained the largest source market, with 2.28 million tourists visiting Vietnam in the first six months. China ranked second, with approximately 1.9 million visitors. Other top-ten markets included Taiwan, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, India, Cambodia, and Thailand.
