At the headquarters of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, located at 105A Quan Thanh, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, nearly 250 delegates—including NGOs operating in Vietnam and those headquartered abroad, as well as representatives from ministries, sectors, and people’s organizations at both central and local levels across the country—attended the Conference in both direct and online formats. Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, chaired the Conference.
The Conference consisted of two parts: information sharing and the ceremony to recognize the contributions of NGOs.
In the information-sharing section, Phan Anh Son presented an overview of the world and regional situation and issues affecting NGOs' work, and provided information on some key points for NGOs' work in 2025. He expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the valuable efforts of NGOs that have actively contributed to Vietnam's development. On this occasion, he launched the movement "Joining Hands to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses Nationwide" to NGOs, from now until the end of 2025.

The second part was the Ceremony to recognize the contributions of NGOs in 2024. Despite the year being filled with challenges and difficulties, NGOs made significant efforts to proactively increase exchanges, connections, and coordination with relevant Vietnamese agencies, continuing to commit to accompanying Vietnam. In the face of numerous global, national, and internal challenges, the resources provided by these organizations were extremely meaningful.
To commend and recognize these positive contributions, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded certificates of merit to 35 NGOs with outstanding activities in 2024 and presented symbols to several organizations with even years. Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, along with Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Works, presented the certificates of merit to the NGOs.
