(VNF) - The International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2018 in Ho Chi Minh city will be held on June 23. The event is expected to attract around 500 participants.

IDY 2018 is jointly held by the Consulate General of India in HCMC in collaboration with Department of External Relations, Department of Culture & Sports and People’s Committee of HCMC.

The celebrations of IDY 2018 will take place at Ho Xuan Huong Stadium, (Ward No. 6, District 3).The programme in HCM City, scheduled at 7am tomorrow, will feature a Yoga Protocol Performance led by Indian yoga instructors and HCM City Sub-Yoga Association.

In addition, the event will feature traditional Indian dance performances by Indian nationals living in HCM City.

The event is free of charge and open to people of all age groups.

Previously, the event was held in Hanoi, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Nha Trang and Dong Nai.

June 21 has been declared by the UN General Assembly Resolution 69/131 as the International Day of Yoga since 2015./.
