The homepage of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has the article "Vietnam beat Myanmar to win the women's football gold medal".
The article emphasized "Vietnam won the SEA Games women's football gold medal for the fourth time in a row after beating Myanmar 2-0 in the final. This is the eighth time Vietnam has won the championship while Myanmar has to be satisfied with the silver medal for the fourth time".
It can be said that the achievement of Vietnamese women's football is a record that will take a long time for competitors in the region to break. AFC believes that Vietnam fully deserves this victory, having taken control of the match right after the opening whistle.
"The relentless pressure paid off in the 12th minute with Huynh Nhu's opening goal. Although Myanmar's tenacious performance made it difficult for Vietnam after that, it could not stop Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha from scoring the second goal to help Vietnamese women's football once again win the gold medal," AFC wrote.

Meanwhile, the homepage of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) is also impressed with the achievements of the Vietnamese women's team, with the article "Four in a row for Vietnam women’s team at the SEA Games 2023".
The article wrote that Vietnam made it their fourth Women's Football crown at the SEA Games when they edged Myanmar 2-0 in the final that was played at the National Olympic Stadium.
“Heading into the game as the overwhelming favourites after triumphs in 2017 (in Malaysia), 2019 (in the Philippines) and then 2021 (in Vietnam), the defender champions were on target in each half for the well-deserved victory," cited AFF.
Boost for World Cup
The feat achieved in Cambodia will be the driving force as well as the necessary momentum for coach Mai Duc Chung and his students to move towards the important tournament, the Women's World Cup, which is about to kick off in Australia and New Zealand from next July.
According to France's AFP news agency, the Vietnamese women's team "scored an important goal" ahead of the World Cup when they beat Myanmar 2-0 to win the SEA Games gold medal.

Ranked 33rd in the world on the FIFA rankings, Vietnam is one of two Southeast Asian teams participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup, along with the Philippines. The "golden stars" will meet the defending champion USA in their first match in the World Cup arena on July 22, before facing Portugal on July 27 and the Netherlands on August 1.
In an analysis posted on its homepage, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said that the victory in the final of SEA Game 32 is "especially meaningful" for Vietnam, as the team prepares to debut at the FIFA Women's World Cup this summer.

"Despite Myanmar's close efforts in the early stages of the second half, Vietnam’s attacking power proved too much for their opposition as they consistently pulled apart the Myanmar defence.
Their hopes of a comeback were somewhat shattered, however, when Vietnam netted their second goal in the 75th minute. 21 year-old Nguyen Thi Thanh Nha - named as FIFA’s one to watch this summer - secured her fifth international goal as she expertly floated a ball from right-wing into the goal to make it 2-0," cited IOC.
Huynh Nhu - Vietnam's key to success
The IOC also pays special attention to captain Huynh Nhu when spending a part of her article to analyze her role in the success of Vietnamese women's football.
“It was captain Huynh Nhu who opened the scoring and helped secure the record win for her country.
The 31 year-old is no stranger to finding the back of the net on the international stage, having so far scored 66 goals in her 71 appearances for Vietnam," the IOC wrote.

The IOC also mentioned Huynh Nhu's career milestones, starting with her 15 years at the Ho Chi Minh City women's football club, scoring 45 goals in 52 appearances.
During her time in Ho Chi Minh City, she became a four-time Top Scorer and four-time Best of the Tournament in the Vietnamese Women's Championship.
In 2022, she became the first female Vietnamese player to sign for a Portuguese side in her move to Lank FC Vilaverdense. To date, she has netted seven goals in 14 games for the Campeonato Nacional de Futebol Feminino side.
According to the IOC, Huynh Nhu's move to Europe was met with some concern from her Vietnamese counterparts, but the 31 year-old felt she was in the right moment of her career to play abroad.

According to the IOC, as the only current Vietnamese player to play abroad, Huynh Nhu's European experience will prove invaluable ahead of this year's FIFA Women's World Cup as she prepares to captain her country for their first ever time on the world stage.
"This Southeast Asian Games 2023 gold was Huynh Nhu’s fourth of her career, adding to her one AFF Cup title, seven domestic Vietnamese titles and 3 National Cups - putting her in good stead ahead of this summer," IOC wrote.
