According to Mr. Athanasios Pafilis, WPC Secretary General, it is very important that the 22nd Assembly of WPC was held in Vietnam.

"First, the war history of Vietnam. It is a symbol showing that when the people are united, we can win. The example history of Vietnam show that if people wake up they can protect the nation's community values.. Secondly, it is that Vietnam is very peaceful country with clear path of peace in negotiation, according to the international law and the rights of the sea."

Sharing the same opinions, Ms. Corazon Fabros Valdez, Co-President of International Peace Bureau, Peace and Security Cluster, said that, based on Vietnam's history of fighting for peace as well as the current development direction of Vietnam, Vietnam is the appropriate host for the 22nd Assembly, especially in the occasion of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement. The Filipino delegate emphasized that Vietnam's peaceful thought lies in the principles of socialism.

Active member of WPC

Evaluating the contributions of the Vietnam Peace Committee in particular and Vietnam in general to the WPC, the delegates of 22nd Assembly said, the Vietnam Peace Committee has always been an active member.

According to Ms. Corazon Valdez Fabros: Vietnam hosting the 22nd Assembly of WPC is completely in line with the mission of the Vietnam Peace Committee, which is to fight for and support solidarity, promote peace, justice, national independence and territorial sovereignty in Vietnam in particular as well as in the world in general; promote non-alignment movement between governments and peoples of countries.

Mr. Athanasios Pafilis praised Vietnam's active role in the WPC activities over the past years: "Vietnam always help the WPC, not only in assembly. We have actitivies in different countries and continents and Vietnam participate everytime, prepare speeches and example to develop the world peace movement all over the world".
