JICA, Ministry of Planning and Investment Conclude Program to Strengthen Vietnam's SMEs

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam Watanabe Shige, and more than 230 representatives from relevant ministries and departments, international donors, the SMEs who received training support of the Technical Cooperation for “SME Promotion and Industrial Development Project".
The project has been implemented for three years (2020-2023) to support and strengthen the capacity of Vietnamese consultants in developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and support industries’ SMEs in joining the global value chain.
Over 1,100 participants took part in the training programs for Consultants with topics of New businesses and Start-ups, Pre Shindanshi – SMEs Management Consultants System.
Implementing the Japanese model with the support from SME Support Japan (SMRJ), the project in Vietnam carried out the On-the-job training (OJT) for 35 selected SMEs among 250 manufacturing companies in Vietnam.
Another achievement of the program is the creative leaders (INNOLEAD) training, which provides the necessary skills for organization management towards innovation for more than 300 leaders from SMEs across Vietnam.
