Lan Chau Island – The Most Beautiful Destination In Cua Lo
Located about 20 km from the center of Nghe An, Lan Chau island is called the “precious gem” of Cua Lo beach. From a large distance, you can see the island is shaped like a giant frog stretching towards the sea.

That is why the island also has the nickname “Ru Coc”, a lovely and simple name that carries the great love of the local people for their hometown. Although it is close to Cua Lo beach, Lan Chau Island is much more wild and idyllic, has not suffered many human impacts, and commercialized tourism.
Lan Chau island divides Cua Lo beach into two different parts. The East part connects to the mainland, and the West one is the high, jagged rock cliffs, stretching towards the sea. These cliffs, due to the erosion of wind and sea waves, have a unique and attractive shape.

Lan Chau Island does not have too many activities or experiences, it is simply a "shelter" for the souls who want to find a very quiet place, walking on the white sandy beach, inhaling the salty smell of the sea, and immerse themselves in a dreamlike scene.

Lan Chau is known for its rustic, tranquil, and beautiful natural scenery. Coming here, tourists can have the best experience, watch the sea of white clouds floating in the sky, and breathe in the fresh air. The busy, crowded streets fade behind, and it makes you feel happy, and light in your heart, as if all the tiredness disappeared.
Since the formation of this beautiful and unique structure, Bao Dai King had given an order to build a tower that let people have a view of the whole scenery of Cua Lo, Cua Hoi, Hon Ngu. Standing on the top of that tower gives tourists a bird’s view of the spacious ocean and enjoying the atmosphere. Lan Chau beautifies the land and satisfies the tourists’ eyes.

Tourists will be amazed by the winding, curving paths and many beautiful Instagram check-in places, from the corridors, rocky stairs to the cliffs that had been worn down by wind and the sea. With people who enjoy taking photographs, you will have a chance to capture the most unique pictures.

There is a moderate lighthouse which is not as gorgeous as other big lighthouses in Vietnam. However, it stands still through the years and would be the greatest navigator for all ships and boats. Whenever see the lighthouse, fishermen know that they are about to come home soon. If you want to get a whole view of Cua Lo and Lan Chau island, try climbing up to the lighthouse and breathe in all the heavenly feeling of this land!
The most ideal destination to visit Lan Chau is in the summer, from May to August. The Central region this season will have a cool climate with little to no rain. The weather is favorable to go swimming or organize fun and entertainment activities.
