Lantern Gate Lighted up to Commemorates 50th Anniversary of Japan-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations

The activity was organized to close the 50th anniversary year. It has attracted the attention and support of local residents and international tourists, many of whom flocked to the venue early to wait for the lantern gate to be lit.

Vietnam and Japan have many similarities in culture and society. Lantern crafting is a traditional and outstanding art of both countries.

The gate, which consists of Hoi An and Japanese lanterns, lies next to Chua Cau (Japanese Bridge) in Hoi An, a symbol of the long history of the bilateral relations.
