Vietnamese top leaders have paid final respect to Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Nguyen Ba Thanh, who passed away on February 13th in central Da Nang city.

Attending the service on February 14th and 15th were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and Vice National Assembly Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son, among others.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and numerous Party and State officials sent wreaths and condolences messages to the late official’s family.

Nguyen Ba Thanh, 62, was born in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang district. He served as Chairman of the People’s Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the city before becoming the Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs.

He passed away at 13:00 on February 13th in Da Nang due to blood cancer.

The memorial service will be organised at 9:30 on February 16th. He will be laid to rest the same day at his hometown of Hoa Tien commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city./.
