Malaysia Promotes Educational Tourism in Vietnam market

Tourism Malaysia has collaborated with the Malaysian Embassy in Vietnam and the Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) to hold activities to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Malaysian peoples, while promoting Malaysian potential in educational and MICE tourism.

According to the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, a Malaysia Education Tourism Seminar took place at the Malaysian Embassy in Hanoi on September 26. The event introduced educational tourism, highlighting the diversity of the Malaysian education system and the unique learning opportunities for Vietnamese students.

Participants was intoducted to the Homestay Tourism model, experienced local culture and study programs in Malaysia. The seminar also provided information on tuition fees, new visa policies and global study opportunities. Thereby, it contributes to enhancing understanding between the two countries, promoting Malaysia as a suitable destination for further education and unique travel experiences.

Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai said: “The Education Tourism Seminar is a valuable opportunity to explore the great potential of Malaysia’s education tourism and also promote cooperation and cultural exchange with Vietnam. Malaysia is proud to offer high-quality education programs combined with unique community-based tourism experiences, providing special educational opportunities for Vietnamese students. I believe that the seminar will strengthen relations and deepen understanding between the two countries.”

In addition, a Malaysia MICE Expo took place at Vietnam's National Convention Center on September 27. The exhibition highlighted Malaysia's advantages as a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) tourism destination, including convenient transportation, high-quality infrastructure and reasonable costs.

MyCEB representative hopes that through the events, they will provide opportunities to expand cooperation and investment in the region, and introduce more specifically to the Vietnamese public about Malaysia - an attractive choice for MICE events thanks to its linguistic diversity, modern urban areas, developed economy and stable foreign policy.

Vietnamese MICE tourists to Malaysia will enjoy visa-free travel, affordable costs and 5-star facilities at hotels such as Hilton Kuala Lumpur, EQ Kuala Lumpur and Shangri-La Hotel. Leading convention centers such as Setia Spice and Kuala Lumpur Convention Center along with unique locations in Putrajaya, Langkawi and Sabah offer diverse cultural and culinary experiences and exciting team building and sport activities.
