President for Global Affairs at Meta Nick Clegg expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for taking the time to meet with the delegation and highly praised Vietnam's investment and business environment, especially the government's consistent efforts to receive and resolve obstacles, thereby creating favorable conditions for businesses to thrive.

Nick Clegg also expressed his admiration for Vietnam's development over the past 40 years. According to him, Meta, which has been active in Vietnam since 2015, has collaborated with Vietnamese ministries and sectors to promote cooperation in the digital economy and innovation.
Specifically, Meta has implemented policies related to content management and combating rumors, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in reaching customers and optimizing revenue via social media.
In 2020, Meta launched the “We Think Digital” program for over one million Vietnamese students, teachers, and parents, and partnered with Vietnamese telecommunications companies to deploy Meta's tools and platforms in remote areas of Vietnam.
Sharing Meta's vision and investment plans in Vietnam, Nick Clegg informed that Meta plans to invest in developing immersive virtual reality technologies and produce next-generation smart glasses in Vietnam. Additionally, Meta will develop a Vietnamese-language virtual assistant (Mate AL) for its social media platforms.
He proposed that the Prime Minister instruct relevant ministries and agencies to continue refining the legal framework and facilitate a supportive business environment. Furthermore, Meta intends to invest in infrastructure, particularly digital infrastructure, to better meet future development needs.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his appreciation for Meta's practical and effective contributions to Vietnam's economic development and the Vietnam-US relations. He urged Meta to continue discussions with Vietnamese agencies and partners, especially the Vietnam Innovation Center, to promote cooperation activities in science and technology, education and training, innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Additionally, he suggested Meta continue supporting Vietnamese businesses, organizations, and individuals in integrating into Meta's global value chain and online platforms.
Regarding Meta's expansion of investment and business in Vietnam, the Prime Minister hopes that Meta will enhance its cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to address harmful information, illegal advertising, and online fraud . He also encouraged Meta to develop solutions to protect social media users and strictly comply with Vietnamese laws, including tax regulations.
Vietnam is currently focused on three strategic breakthroughs, including institutional reform, human resource training, and infrastructure development, particularly digital infrastructure and the establishment of data centers. The Prime Minister requested that Meta closely cooperates with Vietnam in these efforts, ensuring effective and long-term investment and business operations in the country.
