(VNF) - Thirty-eight Miss Vietnam 2018 hopefuls have shown off their glamorous confidence in beautiful gowns and ao dai in the final night for the northern region on July 22 in Cua Lo coastal town in the central province of Nghe An.

The final night for the northern region was live broadcast on Vietnam Television’s VTV6 channel and across 13 local channels. The event was organised by director Hoang Nhat.

This year, the swimsuit photoshoot was kept secret until the final minute and the photos have been released by the organising board of Miss Vietnam 2018 ahead of the final night for the northern region.

Le Xuan Son, editor-in-chief of Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper and head of the organising board, says the swimsuit photoshoot was kept under wraps as they wanted to announce the latest body indexes after the intense training for the pageant.

The winner of Miss Vietnam 2018 will be awarded VND 500 million (USD 22,000). The first and second runners-up will receive VND 300 million (USD 13,200) and VND 250 million (USD 11,000), respectively.

Nine subordinate awards will be presented with a value of VND 50 million (USD 2,200) each.

The winner of the Beauty With A Purpose competition will be given VND100 million (USD 4,400) and will be assured of a place among the five finalists./.
