The Authority of Foreign Information Service under the Ministry of Information and Communications on April 13 inaugurated a multi-lingual platform to promote Vietnam at https://vietnam.vn.

According to VNA, the platform is upgraded from the website https://vietnam.vn with completely different features on a new technology platform.

It gathers information from over 100 major press agencies, 63 portals of provinces and centrally-run cities, and data sources of many organisations, businesses and individuals.

According to Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Authority of Foreign Information Service, the strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence requires Vietnam to develop new and intelligent tools, platforms and technology applications with outstanding features in processing and providing information, thus meeting the demands of readers and viewers.

Apart from official information, the website will provide updated information on localities (Destinations column), beautiful images and videos about Vietnam (Multimedia), digitized information on Vietnam (Vietnam 3D); and introduce outstanding individuals (Figure). The platform is also an open forum for domestic and international viewers to express their perspectives on Vietnam (Views), Tuan said.

On the occasion, the Authority of Foreign Information Service launched a contest “Happy Vietnam 2023” themed “For the happiness of everyone” for local and foreign photographers and video makers.

The competition aims to encourage collectives and individuals to introduce the beauty of nature and people across regions in Vietnam, as well as the country's achievements in innovation, development, and international integration, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and tourism, and its efforts in preserving and upholding cultural and heritage values.

Entries should be submitted before September 16, 2023.

In 2022, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre also introduces the updated version of the application ‘A Virtual Vacation in Da Nang’.

Available at https://vr360.danangfantasticity.com/#nguhanhson_fly_1, the upgraded version integrates VR360 technology and the metaverse. It offers real-life accuracy and makes it easy for users around the world to access information and enjoy a comprehensive experience.

The application now treats holidaymakers to more attractions such as the Ba Na tourist area, local museums, Mikazuki resort, Nui Than Tai hot springs, and the city at night. In addition, it provides more 360-degree videos of Da Nang’s tourism activities such as paragliding in the Son Tra Peninsula and the Dragon Bridge fire and water show.

To better serve visitors, the management board of the UNESCO-recognised My Son Sanctuary in the central province of Quang Nam, has been implementing several digital transformation projects to improve conservation efficiency and promote heritage values, including digitizing artefacts preserved at the site and the museum.

In the first phase from the beginning of 2022, the detailed VR360 virtual reality website has been built, integrated with virtual voiceover features, an overview introduction, and bringing the 3D digital museum model to Bizverse's 3D World Map.

In the second phase, to be carried out in late 2022 and 2023, the website will be upgraded with new features and exhibition space for the museum on Metaverse so that viewers can visit from everywhere, thus enhancing its interactivity and 360 degrees’ rotation.
