It will bring into play the special role and position of people-to-people diplomacy, to strengthen the gathering of the masses, intellectuals, and individuals with extensive experience in the field; coordinate with agencies, departments, and mass organizations to implement effective support activities for the external affairs of the Party and State diplomacy.

Praising the achievements of the Nam Dinh Union, Doanh said that despite its modest four member organizations, they were active, effective and contagious like the provincial Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association.

The Union of Nam Dinh Province has contributed positively to people's foreign affairs as well as to socio-economic development, Party building work, strengthening national defense and security, fulfilling duties and responsibilities of local political affairs.

Doanh suggested that in the next term, the union should take advantage of achieved results, and continue to strengthen the standing agencies and activities of four friendship associations and Nam Dinh Provincial Friendship Center.

It should also focus on developing relationships with strategic partners and people of ASEAN countries, especially countries with common borders such as Laos, Cambodia, China, and Thailand.

It should also develop friendly relations with traditional friends such as Russia and European countries; and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with foreign non-governmental organizations and people organizations of France, the USA, Korea, Japan.

"There is still a lot of room and opportunity for the Nam Dinh Union," emphasized the VUFO Vice President.

Doanh hoped that in the new term, the Union would strive to establish 2 to 3 new member associations, contributing to building a wider network of international friends, supporting Vietnam, and raising the country's position in the global political arena.
