"China attaches great importance to relations with Vietnam"
On April 8, in Beijing, within the framework of an official visit to China, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue met with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
This is the first Chinese leader that National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met during his official visit to China.
The Chinese President’s arrangement for his first meeting with NA Chairman Hue right after the Vietnamese delegation’s arrival in Beijing shows China's high regard for the relationship between the two countries and the delegation's visit.
NA Chairman Hue congratulated the great and historically significant achievements that the Party, State, and people of China have recorded, especially from the 18th Party Congress up to now. He said that he believes that the Chinese people will successfully fulfill the goals of the 20th Congress with the ultimate aim of building China into a civilized, harmonious, beautiful, strong, and modern socialist power.
He hopes that China will make important contributions to global peace, cooperation, and development, bringing cooperation opportunities to neighboring countries, including Vietnam.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping congratulated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
He affirmed that China supports Vietnam's development, stability, and successful construction of socialism in accordance with the country's situation.
The leaders emphasized that the two Parties and countries have many similarities in ideological foundation, and goals of building socialism, both fighting for the interests and happiness of the people.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said developing relations with China is a strategic choice, a top priority in the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, for peace, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of Vietnam's foreign relations.
He affirmed that Vietnam consistently implements the "One China" policy.

Promoting trade cooperation and expanding the import of goods
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue proposed that the two sides consolidate and increase political trust, and high-level contacts, and implement exchanges and cooperation in important fields such as diplomacy, public security, and national defense.

He proposed that the two sides enhance their strategic connection, creating new growth momentum for cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on promoting trade cooperation and expanding the import of goods.
Hue also proposed promoting connections between Vietnam and China's major development strategies, connecting railways, highways, sea and air, strengthening financial and monetary cooperation, and digital transformation.
Appreciating Vietnam's proposals, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that China is ready to maintain strategic exchanges with Vietnam, promote contact at all levels, and increase exchanges.
China is ready to share experiences in Party building and country management, strengthen practical cooperation, and accelerate strategic connections, especially in the fields of railways, and smart border gates.
