The ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki, and Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy Ambassador Dr. Pham Lan Dung. Also present were representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (JF), the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and lecturers and students specializing in Japanese studies.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh highlighted the significance of the Japan Room in fostering understanding and extensive cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. "The diplomatic ties between our two nations are thriving across various sectors, including economy, politics, culture, and education. The Japan Room serves not just students specializing in Japanese studies but also offers opportunities for anyone interested in the culture and country of Japan," he stated.
He believes that the academic programs, cultural exchanges and knowledge sharing at the Japan Room will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
The Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Ito Naoki, recognized the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam as a premier institution for diplomatic training in the country. He expressed his hope that the academy's future students would utilize the Japan Room to deepen their understanding of Japan. He also stated that the Japan Room is intended to be a hub for cultural and intellectual exchanges, thereby strengthening the groundwork for future collaborations.
The Ambassador confirmed that the event marked not just an important milestone, but also paved the way for expanded opportunities in educational and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Dr. Pham Lan Dung, the Acting Director of the Diplomatic Academy, highlighted the significance of cultural understanding, empathy, and international collaboration in contemporary diplomacy. She noted that the Japan Room, established with the support of the Embassy of Japan, will offer students the chance to engage with Japan's extensive cultural heritage, language, and diplomatic protocols.
Dr. Pham Lan Dung stated that Japan has consistently been a dependable ally of Vietnam in educational endeavors, offering assistance via scholarships, student exchange programs, and collaborative research. The Japan Room is designed to motivate and prepare Diplomatic Academy students with the necessary knowledge to foster a lasting and fruitful Vietnam-Japan partnership.
Amidst the delegates, Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh, Ambassador Ito Naoki, and Dr. Pham Lan Dung performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Japan Room. The program's highlight was a special cultural performance by the Academy's Japanese Cultural Club, which created a dynamic and rich atmosphere, eliciting an enthusiastic response from the audience.
