Emphasizing that language is the soul of the nation and a bridge connecting generations of Vietnamese people, no matter where they are, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Manh Dong reaffirmed the Party and State’s profound commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural, traditional, and linguistic values of the nation. He stressed the importance of maintaining Vietnamese cultural identity among the Vietnamese community abroad.
Alongside the support and attention from domestic agencies, the proactive efforts of the overseas Vietnamese communities in various locations have been crucial in overcoming challenges to organize and sustain Vietnamese language classes for younger generations. Thanks to these efforts, in some areas, with the active advocacy of diplomatic missions and effective collaboration with local communities, Vietnamese has been officially recognized by local authorities as a teaching language in schools.
The movement to teach and learn Vietnamese has made significant strides, however, challenges and difficulties persist. This requires collective efforts both at home and abroad to ensure these activities are increasingly effective and meet the needs of the community as well as the expectations of the nation.
Deputy Chairman Nguyen Manh Dong expressed his hope that each participant in the training course would serve as a true ambassador in spreading the love for the Vietnamese language to every overseas compatriot, family, and small community. He emphasized the importance of instilling this love for the national language in the younger generation, so this passion becomes a unifying thread connecting the Vietnamese people and fostering solidarity both within and beyond the country's borders.

Teacher Hien Ni Sa, an educator from the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school, shared that the training course brings her high hopes. Firstly, she aims to enhance her teaching skills, particularly in finding ways to help Lao students approach Vietnamese more easily and effectively. She hopes to learn more about modern pedagogical methods, how to use textbooks and teaching materials flexibly to inspire her students.
Beyond professional expertise, she also wishes the training program would provide deeper knowledge about Vietnam’s culture, history, and society. According to her, rich cultural stories not only make lessons more engaging but also help students gain a better understanding of the country whose language they are learning.
Meanwhile, Dang Thu Hien, a Vietnamese language teacher for children in Malaysia, shared her aspirations upon joining the training course. She expressed a desire to improve her teaching skills and learn modern methodologies, aiming not only to impart the beauty of the Vietnamese language but also the history and culture of the nation to Vietnamese expatriates. Additionally, she hopes the program will enable her to connect with domestic experts and engage with fellow educators who share her passion and dedication for teaching Vietnamese, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of Vietnamese language instruction abroad.
