Olympic Lyon club, Ho Chi Minh city cultivate young generation
(VNF) - From June 19th-22nd, the Ho Chi Minh Football Federation (HFF) and France’s Olympic Lyon club have kicked off the first enrolment for U11 and U13 football generations at Thong Nhat stadium.
This cooperation is hoped to create breakthroughs for Ho Chi Minh city’s football in the future.
According to coach Doan Minh Xuong, in charge of football in the school program from HFF, the first enrolment is opened for talented students nationwide who were born in 2005 and between 2003-2004. The three experts from Olympic Lyon club, Julien Negri, Julien Soko and Patrice Girard, in collaboration with local experts should themselves test candidates.
For the U11 generation, a list of the 18 best students from 50 ones will be finalized after a 3-day testing course by French experts, while Ho Chi Minh city experts are in charge of the U13 generation under close supervision from French partners.
Mr Tran Anh Tu, HFF President, said that this movement is part of bilateral cooperation between Ho Chi Minh city and Olympic Lyon club in late 2015, hoping to produce a high-quality young footballer generation for the city in particular, and Vietnam in general.
The Olympic Lyon club won the French league for seven consecutive years, from 2002 to 2008./.
