On June 13, the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Information and Education launched the contest “Learning about the history of special relations between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam 2022”.

The launching ceremony was attended by Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the PCC, Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education; Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the PCC, Deputy Head of PCC’s Commission for Information and Education, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee; Sengphet Houngboungnuang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR in Vietnam and representatives of departments, ministries, socio-political organizations; press agencies; Vietnamese and Laotian officials, lecturers and students are studying and doing research at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang said: “This contest has made an important contribution to enhancing education for party members, officials, soldiers, police officers, and the people, especially the young generation, to have a deeper understanding of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, the two states and the two peoples of Laos and Vietnam”.

Ambassador Sengphet expressed his belief that the contest will receive wide attention from people from all walks of life, from teenagers to the elderly, and can discover the unique features of this special relationship. The information obtained from the quiz will contribute to the richness and significance of the treasure of historical relations between the two countries, and at the same time, become a document for future generations.

Le Hai Binh, Head of the Organizing Committee said: “The special friendship between Vietnam and Laos is an invaluable asset of the two peoples. The solidarity between two countries has been increasingly consolidated and developed in various fields, becoming a unique model in the world.”

Achievements in bilateral cooperation are precious, forming a solid basis for the generations of Vietnam - Laos today and in the future to continue strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam – Laos to be eternally sustainable. Building and developing this special relationship to a new level is of great significance to the construction and development of each country.

According to Binh, this online quiz is an important political event in a series of activities in the Year of "Solidarity and Friendship Vietnam – Laos, Laos - Vietnam 2022".

By participating in the quiz, contestants can further expand their understanding of the country and people of both Vietnam and Laos; learn about the development and integration steps of "the country of flowers Champa" today, about the history of special relations, the close bond between the two countries, the strong and faithful friendship between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

The contest also spreads the historical values and educates the tradition of revolution, the friendship, and special solidarity that the two Parties, States, and peoples have cultivated since the years of fighting for liberation. At the same time, it arouses the consciousness of cadres, party members, and people of all classes, especially the young generation, about continuing to cultivate exemplary, faithful, and pure friendship, which has become a noble symbol in history of international relations.

“The encouragement and active response of people from all walks of life and international friends is a valuable source contributing to deepening the special friendship between the two peoples, bringing the Vietnam-Laos relations to becoming more and more fruitful,” emphasized Binh.
