Organization Publishes First Book on Vietnam's Foreign Investment
The launching ceremony was held by the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association in collaboration with the International Investment Research Institute (ISC).
There are 4 chapters in the book "Vietnam's Direct Investment Abroad and in Myanmar," including theoretical studies on investment activities in the world and the status of Vietnam's foreign investment abroad, especially in Myanmar. The book also discusses promoting Vietnam's investment in Myanmar and other countries.
It includes many opinions of experts and managers on overseas investment experience, providing strong analysis and assessment of the investment environment overseas. There is also an introduction of Vietnam's strategic partners all over the world.

The book emphasizes the important role of direct investment abroad for developing countries such, using the 24 years (1999-2022) of Vietnam's foreign investment abroad as an example.
For Vietnamese state management agencies, and the Vietnamese business community, the book also provides recommendations in line with the country's socio-economic development strategy from now to 2030.
Dr. Phan Huu Thang, Chairman of the Members' Council of ISC, and former director of the Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment), said that over the years, Vietnam has also allowed domestic enterprises to invest abroad in order to expand the consumption market of goods, exploit strategic assets, acquire management and technology experience.
This also contributes to promoting foreign diplomacy, bringing benefits for the country's socio-economic development in general and the development of Vietnamese enterprises in particular. Vietnam's direct investment abroad helps the country integrate deeply and effectively into the world economy, building a peaceful and prosperous world.
Thang also said that because of the lack of information, there are still many businesses facing difficulties in competing with international competitors.
The book can help them update with information and data from different sources such as World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), UNCTAD World Investment Report, and actual survey data in Myanmar. There are also many recommendations for investing and management made by experienced experts from different organizations in the country.
In order to provide a reliable practical basis for management agencies and businesses to develop investment plans for Myanmar, the book contains in-depth content introducing the investment environment, and potential investment opportunities in Myanmar for Vietnamese businesses to refer to.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association Chu Cong Phung Myanmar is opening long-term opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to invest.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) stressed that the book will be a good reference resource that Vietnamese managers and businesses can use for better decision-making. It will be beneficial for building and sustaining friendships between Vietnamese people and foreign partners.
