Outstanding Lao and Cambodian students honoured

The Ho Chi Minh city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Management Board of the dormitory for Lao and Cambodian students on October 9th honoured 112 outstanding students chosen from over 450 Lao and Cambodian students studying across 21 universities and academies in the city.

The students were chosen for their They are the ones who have gained outstanding achievements in study, scientific research, physical practice and voluntary activities.

During the honouring ceremony, Lam Dinh Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the city Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said he hoped that the students would gain more achievements, as the city leaders and unions were would always be side by side with them to care for their spiritual and material lives for better academic results.

“In particular, the city unions regularly organize programs and activities for Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian students, to contribute to reinforcing the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

He added that he hoped Lao and Cambodian students would have interesting experience with and good affection with for Vietnamese people. “Lao and Cambodian students in the city continue to be those who foster the friendship between Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia in the future,” he went on to say.

Throughout 11 years, 335 outstanding Lao and Cambodian students have been honoured, including 6 Lao students being honoured for 4 successive times./.
