Over 1.8 Million Members and Workers Join "Tet of Reunion - Spring of Sharing"

During the Lunar New Year of the Dragon in 2024, the online "2024 Tet Market of the Trade Union" program attracted over 192,000 union members and workers to participate with a total budget of over VND 60 billion. Activities to offer gifts and free air and train tickets were simultaneously organized by the Vietnam Trade Unions in many localities.

More than 14,600 "Tet of Reunion - Spring of Sharing" programs

According to Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, as of January 29, trade unions at all levels have organized 14,664 "Tet of Reunion - Spring of Sharing" programs, attracting over 3 million union members and workers to participate. More than 1.8 million union members and workers received gifts at the programs, with a total value of nearly VND 1,022 billion.

The program "Tet of Reunion - Spring of Sharing" programs have been organized at the grassroots level, paying attention to many groups of union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances and immigrants, people of ethnic minorities, people suffering from work accidents, occupational diseases, people who have lost their jobs.

Activities have been diversely organized, and suitable for each facility such as visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers, displaying five-fruit trays, wrapping banh chung contests, lucky drawing, organizing folk games, giving legal advice, holding VND 0 booths, selling products at preferential prices, and organizing cultural and artistic activities.

“In addition, many places have given scholarships for children of workers, given gifts to accompany children to school, sent New Year wishes to workers' families with parents over 70 years old, visited and sent Tet wishes to heroic Vietnamese mothers, those who contributed to the revolution, single mothers, gave spring travel tickets and went to the Tet flower market," Phan Van Anh said.

Organize online "2024 Tet Market 2024 of the Trade Union"

Also according to the leader of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 24 in-person "2024 Tet Market of the Trade Union" programs are organized by localities and industries based on the situation of the grassroots.

The programs have attracted over 192,000 union members and workers to participate with a total budget of over VND 60 billion, of which, the "2024 Tet Market of the Trade Union" was organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Hanoi. The program had 99 businesses with 124 booths, attracting over 20,000 union members and workers to participate, with a total amount of over VND 11 billion.

For the first time, the "2024 Tet Market of the Trade Union" is held on e-commerce platforms nationwide by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The program runs from January 15 to February 7, 2024. At the program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor plans to support 201,000 union members with an amount of over VND 60 billion.

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, financial support with the value of VND 300,000/ union member aims to carry out Tet shopping through e-commerce platforms. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor coordinated with Shopee and Tiki to open a separate "2024 Tet Market of the Trade Union" program with over 30,000 items for sale at preferential prices. From January 15-29, 2024, 48,056 union members received support of VND 300,000 and more than 37,000 union members completed purchases with a total amount of over VND 10 billion.

Continue "Trade Union's Tet Journey - Spring 2024"

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, through the program, 162,818 union members and workers were supported with train, bus, and plane tickets, with a total value of nearly VND 76 billion. Trade unions at all levels also organized and coordinated with agencies, units, and employers to organize 3,382 free bus trips to bring over 112,000 union members and workers home to celebrate Tet, worth nearly VND 31 billion.

In particular, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held "Trade Union's Train Trip - Spring 2024", and "Trade Union's Flight - Spring 2024" to provide free support to nearly 1,300 union members and workers in difficult circumstances or with excellent achievements, who were born in the north but work in the southern provinces so that they could come home to celebrate Tet and return to work after Tet, with an expected amount of more than VND 7 billion.
