Over 48,000 foreign tourists visit Hue during Tet

The central coastal province of Thua Thien-Hue greeted more than 82,000 tourist arrivalsduring the ten-day lunar New Year (Tet) holiday (February 15th-24th) of which 48,000 were foreign arrivals, accounting for 58% of the total arrivals to the province, a year-on-year rise of 30%, reported the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The central coastal province of Thua Thien-Hue greeted more than 82,000 tourist arrivalsduring the ten-day lunar New Year (Tet) holiday (February 15th-24th) of which 48,000 were foreign arrivals, accounting for 58% of the total arrivals to the province, a year-on-year rise of 30%, reported the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Specifically, from the first to the third day of the holiday, destinations throughout the Hue imperial relic complex received about 30,000 tourist arrivals, including 10,000 foreign arrivals.

The province earned a tourism turnover of more than VND55 billion during Tet 2015 while social revenue from tourism reached more than VND160 billion.

During the holiday, numerous events were organised to introduce the traditional culture of the province and to attract visitors such as a firework displays, art programs to welcome New Year at Hue Opera Art House, Hue Imperial Traditional Art House and Children and Teenagers Activity Centre.

Travel agencies in Hue also hosted a series of attractive spring tours in combination with festivals while hotels and travel companies offered promotions and added many new services to serve tourists./
