Accordingly, the city will assist 825 fishing boats with capacity of 20 CV or lower with VND1 million each, while VND2 million will be given to each of over 450 fishermen owning fishing boats with capacity of between 20 CV- 90 CV.
In addition, the city will exempt taxes worth VND260 million for stall rent for 330 households in Tho Quang seaport fish market in May.
The assistance aims to help fishermen and traders in the city overcome difficulties caused by slow consumption of fisheries products.
During the meeting, the city leaders discussed a project on the removal of coracles and fishing boats with capacity of 20 CV or lower. Under the project, from now until 2020, the city will buy all of the fishing boats with capacity of 20 CV or lower at a price of VND20-30 million each, and coracles, to reduce the number of coastal fishing boats.
In addition, 1,100 fishermen working in nearly 780 coracles and fishing boats of 20 CV or lower will be assisted with VND10 million each to find other jobs./.
