Highly appreciating the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the meaningful meeting, Acting Deputy Consul General of the US in Ho Chi Minh City Christina Le expressed her happiness at witnessing the continuous strong development in US-Vietnam relations.

According to the US diplomat, 2025 will mark the 30th year since the normalization of the Vietnam-US diplomatic relations, and their partnership has never been as good as at present. The countries have switched from a history of conflict and division to a comprehensive strategic partnership covering multiple fields, including politics, security, economy, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Sharing some positive achievements in the US-Vietnam relations in areas such as educational cooperation, war legacy mitigation, trade, investment, and sustainable green economic development, Christina Le noted that a highlight in the partnership between the two countries is people-to-people diplomacy, demonstrated through the relationship between people of the two nations. This relationship is reflected in creating opportunities for students from both countries and building safe supply chains for small businesses.

Addressing the event, Vice President of the Vietnam - US Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City Pham Xuan Hoang An affirmed that the 248th anniversary of US Independence Day is important not only for the US people but also for people worldwide who cherish the values of freedom, democracy, and independence. He emphasized that the celebration is also a testament to the long-lasting friendship and sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and the US.

According to Pham Xuan Hoang An, recent years have witnessed significant development and solid progress in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the US, especially with the recent upgrade of the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This marks a remarkable step forward, opening up many opportunities for broader cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment, science and technology, defense, security, and people-to-people diplomacy; and highlights the commitment of the two countries to fostering Vietnam-US relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of both countries and for peace and stability in the region and the world.

On the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, Ho Chi Minh City is proud of its close relationship with its sister cities in the US, including San Francisco and New York. Cultural, economic, and educational exchange programs between Ho Chi Minh City and US cities have enriched the bilateral relationship, bringing practical mutual benefits.

In the coming time, it is believed that both sides will continue to facilitate more cultural exchange activities, contributing to enhancing understanding and comprehensive cooperation between the peoples of the two countries, as well as to the development of the Vietnam-US bilateral relations.
