Many people believe that Phuong Uyen Tran, the oldest daughter of Tran Quy Thanh – CEO of Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group, was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and everything has been done for her. The reality, however, is very different. Her father is a believer in the saying “spare the rod, spoil the child” and letting his daughters do things on their own. He has always been stricter to his two daughters than other people.

Phuong or her little daughter, Bich Ngoc Tran, will one day inherit the Tan Hiep Phat company, a result only possible through great endeavours, self-training, and recognition from her colleagues and seniors.

Despite being the heiresses, Phuong and Bich themselves have no extra benefits. They worked for the company as ordinary employees at first, striving for excellence”, said Mr Tu.

After graduating in Singapore, Phuong got her first job at Tan Hiep Phat as a secretary to the marketing director, before becoming an interpreter for the ERP project manager. "That was my first time managing 30 people", Phuong said.

Phuong recalled that the days when she had to wake up at 5 am to work with “her boss”, Dr. Thanh. She used to have lunch around 2-3 pm and sometimes had dinner at the midnight. There were times when they worked till 2 am.

Despite the work pressure, Phuong always wants to take over higher positions in her career, therefore, she is ready to seize even small opportunities because those hardly come twice in our life.

While businesses are facing difficulties and the government asks people to “stay where you are”, not to go outside due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the leaders of Tan Hiep Phat put great efforts to overcome the circumstances. They are seeking initiatives to live with Covid-19 safety.

Many enterprises and factories have been facing labour shortages in the pandemic, especially firms in the southern provinces, according to recent reports. Tan Hiep Phat has been successfully retained workers by implementing the “3 on-site”. According to Ms Phuong Uyen Tran, in a difficult time, the core value of Tan Hiep Phat - “Nothing is impossible” shines through. The group’s leaders have been implemented “3 on-site” with thousands of workers. The presence of leaders plays an important role, encouraging and motivating employees.

Phuong Uyen Tran believes that employees’ well-being is very important. Prof. Nguyen Duc Khuong from the Vietnam National University- International School, shared the same point of view: "It is necessary to put the health, safety and happiness of employees at the center of business strategy as well as promote digital transformation, adapting to a mixed working environment", Khuong said.

Financial resources are needed to obtain all of the above improvements. Although Tan Hiep Phat has to pay the high cost of “3 on-site” implementation, transportation and warehouse, the group is willing to sacrifice short-term benefits for long-term goals, Phuong said. This shows again the “Nothing is impossible” attitude- a core value of Tan Hiep Phat Beverage Group.
