Promote Cooperation and People-to-people Exchange between Vietnam and Canada
In Toronto, the delegation conducted activities to learn about and connect with partners on educational exchange, business connection, and arts performance to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada. They also paid a courtesy call and attended the reception by Markham City's Mayor.

Accordingly, from November 22 to 23, in Toronto, arranged by the Canada - Vietnam Friendship Association, the delegation visited and worked at Upper York Secondary School, York University, and the University of Niagara Falls. During these visits, the school and universities introduced their training programs, needs for international students, scholarship opportunities, part-time job opportunities, and international students' employability after university graduation.
Nguyen Nang Khieu informed about the Vietnam - Canada Friendship Association's activities, namely connecting with universities and high schools in Canada to form a people-to-people exchange channel through educational cooperation, exchanging delegations, inviting Canadian students to Vietnam to participate in experiential activities such as homestays.
Nguyen Nang Khieu also invited representatives of the school and universities to attend international discussions and seminars on cultural and educational exchange to be held by the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association in the coming time.

On November 23, in Markham, the Vietnam - Canada Friendship Association delegation coordinated with the Canada - Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFS), Canada - Vietnam Business Council, and Markham Business Association to organize the Vietnam - Canada Business Forum. More than 20 Canadian enterprises in Markham, Toronto, and 7 Vietnamese businesses attended the forum, at which they exchanged to understand each other's potential, strengths, needs, and opportunities for cooperation.
At the event, Amanda Young Colluci, Markham MP, read the message of the city's Mayor, Frank Scarpiti, to welcome the delegation and congratulate the Forum.

Speaking at the Forum, Nguyen Nang Khieu reviewed the Vietnam - Canada relations over the past 50 years, particularly since the two countries established a Comprehensive Partnership in 2017, in the fields of politics-diplomacy, trade-investment, development cooperation, defense-security, culture-education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
He emphasized the topics that businesses need to discuss to remove barriers and promote economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries, between Markham and Toronto and Vietnamese localities.
After the Forum, the delegation held an art program on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada. Officials of Markham, businesses, and more than 300 overseas Vietnamese in Toronto enjoyed Cheo, Quan Ho Bac Ninh, and Chau Van... choreographed and performed by artists of the UNESCO Folk Art Troupe.
Within the framework of the business trip, the Vietnam - Canada Friendship Association delegation had a working session with leaders of the Canada - Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFS) to discuss the direction of people-to-people exchange cooperation between the two Associations in 2024 and years to come. The delegation also attended the reception held by Markham's leaders, met the People of Hai Phong Association in Toronto, met the Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa at Vietnam House, participated in cultural events at the Canadian Parliament, etc.
