Promoting Cooperation Between Small, Medium Sized Enterprises in Singapore and Hai Phong City

On May 17 in Hai Phong city, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Vietnam-Singapore Friendship Association of Hai Phong city (VSFA Hai Phong) and Sing-Viet Impact Ventures (SVIV) was held.

The MoU signifies the closer cooperation between VSFA Hai Phong va SVIV for various fields, namely trade, education, tourism and healthcare. The two sides commit to work together to initiate practical contributions to strengthen the mutual trust and respect between the business communities of both countries in the coming time.

"The MoU between VSFA Hai Phong and SVIV marks one step further in the right direction, at the right time and with a right partner," said Nguyen Duc Hung, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam - Singapore Friendship Association (VSFA).

Hung believes that the two sides will actively contribute to promote the Vietnam - Singapore strategic partnership, especially in the field of investment, economic trade and cooperation between the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the two countries.

In his remarks, President of VSFA Hai Phong Tran Van Dang emphasized that the partnership between VSFA Hai Phong and SVIV will provide the support for startups and SMEs to take advantage of the potential and strengths of Singapore and Hai Phong city,

According to President of SVIV Lawrence Lim, SVIV and VSFA Hai Phong share a common goal, which is to help its members develop mutually beneficial partnerships, focusing on the fourth generation (4G) SMEs with three main attributes: small to medium-scaled, agile and able to shift business models fast with outcome-driven mindset.

Established in 2021, Sing-Viet Impact Ventures (SVIV) is a Singapore-based non-profit organization. Services which SVIV provides for its members include business matching; identifying government funding and support; developing socially responsible business mod-els; establishing skills upskilling and transfer programmes; and professional support services.
