	Vietnam’s Culture Promoted At ASEAN Youth Cultural Forum

The event was attended by over 100 guests, including politicians, local government officials, business leaders, scholars, artists, journalists, and representatives of social-political organizations.

According to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Washington, DC, Ambassador of Vietnam to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung introduced the country’s rich history, unique and diverse cultural traditions, and the hardworking, intelligent, resilient, and hospitable people of Vietnam.

He also highlighted the accomplishments achieved in Vietnam-US diplomatic relations.

The event featured three main segments: a presentation on Vietnam’s economy, trade, and investment opportunities; a fashion show of traditional costumes representing Vietnam’s three regions; and a culinary reception showcasing Vietnamese cuisine.

The traditional fashion showcase captivated the audience with vibrant, colorful attire from Vietnam’s northern ethnic minorities, along with the Southern ao ba ba, the Northern ao tu than, and the iconic ao dai, all set to Vietnamese music.

A particular highlight was the serving of pho and fresh spring rolls prepared by the Embassy’s chef, along with traditional dishes from Hue, which offered guests an authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine.

Guests enthusiastically participated in trying on traditional Vietnamese attire and enjoyed hands-on demonstrations on how to make spring rolls.

Gregory Bland, CEO of Things To Do DC, expressed gratitude to Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Dung and the Vietnamese Embassy for welcoming American friends to the Vietnam House. He shared that many American attendees were delighted to join the event, gaining a deeper understanding of Vietnam and its people.

This comprehensive promotional event left a strong impression on attendees, serving as a major highlight in a series of cultural diplomacy activities planned for 2024, and paving the way for events celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2025.
