From the Vietnamese side, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Luong Thanh Nghi attended the event. On the Danish side, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Lina Hansen, Deputy Minister of Culture of Denmark Torsen Andersen were presented.

The ceremony welcomes many guests and representatives of Danish ministries, branches, agencies, associations, businesses, ambassadors, heads of representative agencies of countries and representatives of the Vietnamese community living and working in Denmark.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi affirmed the historical significance of National Day 2/9 and the goal of building a rich, strong, democratic, fair and civilized Vietnam. Over the past 79 years, Vietnamese people have united to overcome many difficulties and challenges for national independence and reunification. Nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi movement, Vietnam has become one of the 40 largest economies in the world.

Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi reviewed the major milestones of Vietnam-Denmark relationship, including the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and the most recent upgrade to the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.

The two sides actively exchanged delegations at all levels, he said, effectively carried out strategic cooperation in the fields of energy, environment, agriculture, health, education and training, statistics. The bilateral cooperation in fields such as culture, science and people-to-people exchanges also achieved positive results.

Trade and investment between the two countries have made a strong development, especially in the field of green transformation, sustainable development, and high-quality projects.

"The upgrade to the Green Strategic Partnership opens a new chapter in bilateral relations, demonstrating the vision, determination and commitment of the two countries to the green transition, sustainable development and responsibility for future generations,” said Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi.

In the coming time, Vietnam will work even closely with Denmark and member countries to successfully organize the 2030 Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals (P4G) Summit in Vietnam in April 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoang Dao Cuong praised cultural cooperation between the two countries. He appreciated the valuable support of the Danish side for Vietnam’ effort to put creative culture at the center of sustainable development.

"Vietnamese music lovers have been welcomed and enjoyed many times by Danish artists to our country, especially the most recent Moi Caprice band and singer Lucas Graham participating in performances on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Denmark, which was within the framework of the visit of the King and Queen of Denmark to Vietnam.

Today, in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, the artists of the Vietnam National Academy of Music together with Danish artists bring special and highly anticipated ensemble performances for the audience. Among the Vietnamese artists performing today, some of them have studied and trained in Denmark, and Denmark has become their family, their second homeland," said the Deputy Minister.

He affirmed that although Vietnam and Denmark are geographically far apart, culture and art are always a strong connection and in their own way, bring the two countries closer together.
