(VNF) - The 2015 National First Class Chess Championships took place between April 17th-26th at the Ho Chi Minh city-based Tan Binh district Sports and Culture Center, with the participation of 43 players (25 males and 18 females) from 11 locations.

(VNF) - The 2015 National First Class Chess Championships took place between April 17th-26th at the Ho Chi Minh city-based Tan Binh district Sports and Culture Center, with the participation of 43 players (25 males and 18 females) from 11 locations.

This event is part of the national high level competition system for players who ranked top 3 in the domestic and international chess tours last year, such as Dao Thien Hai, Tu Hoang Thong, Le Kieu Thien Kim - Ho Chi Minh city, Cao Sang - Lam Dong province; and Hoang Bao Tram - Hanoi.

Competitors play under the Swiss system, 11 games for male, and 9 games for female, in the two inpidual medal categories.

The Quang Ninh province delegation sent two females from the provincial Sports and Physical Competition and Training Centre, in which Ton Nu Hang An took 6 points, ranked third while, Pham Thi Thu Hien took 5 points, ranking 8/18 overall.

In the medals table, player, Nguyen Van Huy from Hanoi topped the tour, runners-up were Hoang Canh Huan from Da Nang and Dao Thien Hai from Ho Chi Minh city. For the female group the gold medal belonged to Hoang Thi Bao Tram from Hanoi; while Tran Le Dan Thuy from Ben Tre province and Ton Nu Hong An from Quang Ninh province (Da Nang city-originally) ranked second and third, respectively./.
