Vera Mazhirina, currently in charge of the image of the Russian parliament, started getting acquainted with Vietnam in 2016 and was immediately convinced by the beauty of the country and the people of the "S-shaped strip of land".

“Vietnam gives me one surprise after another. I can not stand still in front of the beauty of the country, of the people that I meet by chance. I want to capture every moment of my life in Vietnam,” said Vera.

Returning from Vietnam to Russia, Vera continued to study Vietnamese culture and people. With memories of her trip to Vietnam still fresh in her mind, she continued to take photos of Vietnamese life in Moscow.

On the occasion of the 131st birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (1890-2021), from February 2021, Vera embarked on a photo project about President Ho Chi Minh, with the support from the department of Federation Council of Russia, the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia.

According to Vera, the photo project "Ho Chi Minh Era" recreates the life of President Ho Chi Minh as well as periods of Vietnamese history, in order to pay tribute to and honor the beloved leader of Vietnam, who laid the foundation and worked hard to cultivate and build the Vietnam-Russia friendship.

The project “Ho Chi Minh Era” consists of two parts. The first part shows the history of Vietnam's development through artistic photography, including depicting the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, portraits of the overseas Vietnamese community.

In the second part, the project introduces portraits of representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and community in Moscow, as well as Russian parliamentarians from the Friendship Group with Vietnam. They appeared with photos and memorabilia about Uncle Ho and the two countries' friendship.

During the project implementation, Vera learned more stories about President Ho Chi Minh. “It's fun to work with documentary photos. The more I learn, the more I want to study more deeply about President Ho Chi Minh's life and Vietnamese history," said the Russian photographer.

With the project about to be completed, Vera followed the historical path of Vietnam associated with President Ho Chi Minh, through his photographs. Each photo of Uncle Ho is an important milestone in the country's history.

“The path that President Ho Chi Minh took throughout his life has led the Vietnamese people to a better life. President Ho Chi Minh is an outstanding national hero and a symbol of Vietnam. In Russia, Uncle Ho is also very famous for his many contributions to promoting Vietnam - Russia relations, for the benefit of the two peoples," Vera shared. She also affirmed that the Russian people are happy with Vietnam's successes and regularly update the development situation of the "S-shaped strip".

After the project "Ho Chi Minh Era", Vera expressed her wish to return to Vietnam, take pictures in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown, visit places where he lived and worked. Vera Mazhirina is considering implementing a photo project about Vietnamese youth studying in Russia, as well as the beauty of Vietnamese women.
